On the 6th of December 2024, Tim Warne retired from the Council after 35 years. Tim has been the Council’s specialist officer dealing with minerals and waste planning applications across the County and has a wealth of knowledge in this field. A trained geologist, Tim’s vast experience and professionalism will be greatly missed. It has been a pleasure to work with Tim and see his passion for the minerals sector.

Ellie Inglis-Woolcock is taking over from Tim and will continue the role of specialist minerals and waste planning officer. Ellie has over 20 years’ experience in planning policy, focussing on minerals and waste policy for much of that time. She has worked for both Cornwall County Council as a dedicated minerals and waste policy officer and more recently for Cornwall Council in the planning policy team with a wide-ranging remit. Ellie is looking forward to working within the minerals and waste sector alongside her colleagues Stephanie Carlyon and Matthew Sleeman, who are responsible for monitoring permitted minerals and waste sites.

Ellie said: “As an independent voice of the minerals industry, the Council values the expertise and knowledge provided by the Cornish Chamber of Mines and Minerals, and looks forward to continuing to work collaboratively in the future.”
