The Annual General Meeting of the Chamber was held at Wheal Jane on Tuesday, October 3rd.
The Chairman was able to report on a hugely successful Centenary Conference at the Heartlands Centre in Camborne. The organising committee’s targets for attendance were exceeded in all respects.
Over 160 delegates attended the all-day event and enjoyed a first class series of presentations by industry experts both local, national and international. Interactive workshops and over 20 companies with exhibition displays provided the basis for an excellent day of networking and catching up with friends and colleagues.
The day was made complete with a grand dinner at the Penventon Park Hotel in Redruth attended by 66 guests, who enjoyed an excellent meal in wonderful surroundings rounded off by an entertaining speech by special guest Colonel Edward Bolitho, The Queen’s Representative in Cornwall.
The conference was also a valuable opportunity to highlight the progress of the Cornwall Mining Alliance, launched with the help of the Chamber last year, and which now has over 80 members, and clarify the differing but complimentary roles of the two organisations.
